This guide explains three powerful methods of rectifying your birth time based on KP astrology principles, including the classical Nakshatra-based method, the Mandi–Lagna method, and the Pre-natal Epoch (EPUJ) method.

1️⃣ Nakshatra-Based Rectification (Vighati Method)

This classical method uses your Moon Nakshatra and base Nakshatra to rectify your birth time.

👉 Step 2: Record your approximate birth time 🕒.

👉 Step 3: Calculate the time difference between sunrise and birth in minutes.

👉 Step 4: Multiply the difference by 2.5 to convert to Vighatis.

👉 Step 5: Multiply the result by 4, then divide by 9. Take the remainder.

👉 Step 6: Add this remainder (as steps) to your chosen base Nakshatra index (Aswini = 0, Makham = 9, Moolam = 18).

👉 Step 7: Check if the resulting Nakshatra matches your actual Moon Nakshatra.

👉 Step 8: If not, adjust your time by ~3.6 minutes per remainder step and repeat.

2️⃣ Mandi–Lagna Rectification Test

This method checks the angular distance between the Mandi point and the Lagna.

👉 Step 1: Use KP astrology software to get 🪐 Mandi and Lagna degrees at your proposed birth time.

👉 Step 2: Convert both to full zodiac degrees (e.g., 2° Aquarius = 302°).

👉 Step 3: Subtract Mandi from Lagna and take mod 360.

👉 Step 4: Check how many signs apart they are (divide result by 30).

👉 Step 5: If they are 1st, 5th, 7th, or 9th from each other ➡️ your birth time is likely accurate.

3️⃣ Pre-natal Epoch (EPUJ) Method

This method compares your birth Lagna degree with the Moon’s degree approximately 9 months before birth. It is highly accurate but requires more effort.

👉 Step 2: Use KP software to find your Ascendant (Lagna) degree at your proposed birth time.

👉 Step 3: Go back ~270 days (~9 months) to find the Epoch date 🕰️.

👉 Step 4: Using the same Place of Birth, cast charts hour-by-hour starting from the Epoch date.

👉 Step 5: Find the exact time when 🌙 Moon’s degree = your Lagna degree at birth.

👉 Step 6: If match is found within 1°, your birth time is likely accurate. Otherwise, adjust birth time and repeat.
